Moon

The next two weeks in science students will be studying the moon.  Students will be expected to learn the phases and their proper order.  Here is the Utah standard and activities suggested by the state:

The vocabulary required for this unit is:

1.   axis of rotation: the spinning of objects around an imaginary center line
2.   orbit: the path a planet or moon takes during its revolution
3.   phases of the moon: the different shapes of the moon during a lunar cycle
4.   reflection: the process of bouncing off
5.   revolution: the circling of an object in space around another object in space 

The assessment on the moon will be on Friday, January 21st.
