Changes

Due to excessively high numbers in the 5th and 6th grade classes I will now be teaching a 5/6 split to lower class numbers.  It was a joy to meet each first grader this last week and I wish you the best upcoming year with the fabulous new teacher!

TESTING APPOINTMENTS

A letter has been mailed to you with your child's time and day to be tested.  The letter will arrive in a bright GREEN envelope.  Please come to the appointment on time and with no siblings.

TESTING APPOINTMENT
Mr. Rencher has arranged for me to test your child’s current reading level by administering the DRA (Developmental Reading Assessment) and basic math skills.  The test will last approximately 20 minutes.  The results from the test will assist me to start instruction at your child’s level the day school begins.  I look forward to getting to know your child personally before we meet as a whole class.

Your child __________________________ will meet with me on ___________________ at __________________ in room 126.
It is very important for you to keep this appointment and to be on time!

Also, please make arrangements to come without siblings to lessen distractions and allow me to make a more accurate assessment of your child’s current reading and math abilities.

                                                        See you soon,
                                                                             Mrs. Goff

READY OR NOT, FIRST GRADE HERE I COME!

You read correctly I am moving across the school to 1st grade.  I am excited to learn and grow along with the kindergarteners I taught last year during target time, PE, and art.  I have been attending literacy classes the last three days to better know how to teach my future first graders.  I have learned there are differences between sixth graders and first graders for sure, but teaching is still teaching and I plan to give it my all.
